When fully connected, The Great Trail will be the world’s longest and grandest recreational trail. Millions of Canadians and visitors use the Trail daily to experience our country’s legendary wilderness, cycle historic rail trails, explore provincial and territorial capitals, paddle the routes of early explorers, and visit national and provincial parks. By Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Trail will stretch nearly 24,000 kilometres from coast to coast to coast. Trans Canada Trail (TCT) — a not-for-profit organization — has been working with donors, partners, governments, landowners and volunteers for 25 years to build, enhance and promote this epic trail of trails.
