On Saturday June 5, Dr. Pierre Camu and the late William (Bill) Pratt will be honoured by the Trans Canada Trail at celebration events in Calgary AB and Gatineau QC. The Trans Canada Trail pavilion in Calagary will be officially named the William Pratt Pavilion and the pavilion in Gatineau will be named the Dr. Pierre Camu Pavilion.
In Gatineau, Mrs Laureen Harper and Mayor Marc Bureau will join TCT representatives and Dr and Mrs Camu to unveil naming signage on the pavilion. In Calgary, Deborah Apps, TCT President and CEO, and Mrs Millicent Pratt will do the honours.
The Trans Canada Trail was first envisioned by these two remarkable Canadians in 1992 during Canada’s 125 celebrations. Today, the Trans Canada Trail is the world’s longest recreational trail and a magnificent legacy for Canadians today and generations to come.
