Graham Green is a senior associate at Hill+Knowlton Strategies in Ottawa and a founding partner of Green2 Solutions, where he provides government relations advice and media and communications support to a wide variety of clients in the private and public sector, associations and not-for-profit organizations. Graham began his professional career as a diplomat in the Canadian Foreign Service, with postings in Zambia and Malawi, at the United Nations in New York (including a two-year term on the UN Security Council) and as Canada’s first resident ambassador to Croatia. He then spent 11 years at the Ottawa Citizen where he held a variety of senior positions, including Executive Editor, Editorial Pages Editor and Business Editor. From 2007 to 2009, he was the Citizen’s co-editor-in-chief and a member of the publisher’s executive team. He holds a Bachelor of Journalism (with Law) degree from Carleton University. Graham is also an active volunteer in his community, where he is the incoming chair of the Board of Directors of the Bruyère Research Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bruyère Foundation. He has been a member of the Community Relations & Advancement Committee of the Board of Governors at Carleton University for the past six years and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Ottawa International Writers Festival. Graham joined the Trans Canada Trail in 2015.
