Heather Armstrong graduated from the University of British Columbia Medical School in 2015 and is currently a resident physician in the UBC Obstetrics and Gynaecology program in Vancouver. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2010. Throughout her undergraduate training, Heather competed as a Varsity Track and Field and Cross-Country athlete for Simon Fraser University. She was involved in her community as a track and field coach and volunteer for athletes with disabilities. Heather continues to be a strong advocate for social determinants of health and has been involved in a number of cross-cultural and global health projects both locally and internationally. Heather grew up hiking, camping and paddling with her family, giving her an appreciation for the many trails and and waterways of British Columbia. She continues to enjoy running, biking, skiing and exploring all of the outdoor opportunities Canada has to offer.
