Ian Cullwick is a Partner in Mercer’s Ottawa office and specializes in governance effectiveness, compensation strategy, performance management, and organization design. Ian has significant experience working with a number of clients on a variety of governance effectiveness assignments including the role and terms of reference of HR/Compensation Committees; Board and Committee performance measurement; enterprise-wide HR strategy development; CEO and executive performance management; executive compensation strategy and program design; internal governance including delegated authorities; HR risk management, audit and reporting; and succession planning and CEO transition, including the role of the Board and related Standing Committees. Ian also teaches in the Telfer School of Management’s EMBA program, and has lectured on the topics of CEO performance management and HR governance with ICD Canada and the Directors College.
Ian has an MBA from the Ivey Business School, and the CCP, CHRL and CMC designations. His direct governance experience includes currently serving on the Compensation and Performance [Standing] Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and on the Board of Directors of Bradburn Securities. Ian is also the former Chair of the Board and Board member at the Ottawa YMCA, and he served on the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
