Better Together

Sometimes, it's not about the places you wander through, but the people you meet.

We live in a world of hyperconnectivity. Where nature is often experienced vicariously through a screen rather than through direct contact. Where our social lives can, and do, exist virtually. That’s why we invite you rediscover your connection to nature on the Trans Canada Trail by joining one of our new Instameets.

These events are a great way to experience the Trail and socialize with like-minded people. The Trans Canada Trail is great because it’s for everyone, and it’s even better when it’s shared with others.

Instameet at The Forks

Winnipeg, Manitoba

During our first-ever Instameet, organized in collaboration with Travel Manitoba, our Digital Outreach Coordinator, Pat, had the chance to join a group of Instagrammers on a guided tour – thanks Tourisme Riel – of the Trans Canada Trail in Winnipeg. In his position, you can probably imagine that Pat spends a lot of time behind a screen, so this time he had the chance to interact with people, talk about the Trail all while walking and experiencing it himself! Check out this great video by one of the participants – @gyk26.

Instameet at the Sooke Hills Wilderness Trail

Langford, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Organized in collaboration with Tourism Vancouver Island and the City of Langford, this Instameet took to the hills of the Sooke Hills Wilderness Trail. Accompanied by a local guide, about 30 folks – a mix of local Instagrammers, new Canadian citizens, and our very own Communications & Marketing Manager – gathered together to hike this incredibly beautiful section of the Trans Canada Trail. Many thanks to The Good Party for setting up such a beautiful picnic spot, and House of Boateng for feeding us!

Instameet at the Salt Marsh Trail

Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia

On a beautiful sun-filled day, we got together a diverse group of supporters to join Trans Canada Trail (TCT) in recognizing its long-standing partnership with the Canadian Military Engineers (CME), at the Trailès recently renovated pavilion in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. After the pavilion ceremony, a group of local Instagrammers, new Canadian citizens, local Trail volunteers and TCT staff and TCT Board members hopped on a bus to enjoy a guided walk on the stunning Salt Marsh Trail. What an unforgettable experience!
